The beauty of this thing we call social media.

This year has been extremely challenging and humbling for me as well. All of which I know will make me a better businessman and a stronger person. I am on the entrepreneur path now, attempting what most say is the impossible but I charge on. Stories like yours inspire and fuel the fire. Thank you. Looking forward to lunch next week. Cheers.

Re: Taking A Moment For Myself

Hi Matt,

I'm new to the social media arena (in terms of being actively aware of it) but I can definitely see that a sense of community is core to helping any business grow. I'm a designer and you'd think nothing good would come out of connecting with other designers (aka business rivals), but I've found that seeking them out results in a mutually beneficial relationship that helps me grow my business and my knowledge.

When you have some spare time I'd love to sit down and listen, as I'm sure you have a lot of other great things I could learn from ya.

Re: Taking A Moment For Myself

Well said. Keep rocking with the new direction. How about thank YOU for bringing ME to twitter?!?!?!?!

Re: Taking A Moment For Myself

Aww! Thanks so much. I really appreciate your response!

Re: Taking A Moment For Myself

Matt - For some reason this post put tears to my eyes. You are an amazing businessman, friend and web leader in San Diego. You have taught me a lot (a good start to Fatherhood) always listen & never judge. Keep up the great work & the undying passion you have for tech/web. You are not alone.

-Sarah

Re: Taking A Moment For Myself

You made the 'short list' because you have greatly inspired my understanding of 'community', probably more so than Jake or Chris. In terms of actual influence, I might put you at the top!

Re: Taking A Moment For Myself

How did I make the list? Very flattered to be among community thought leaders like Jake (my mentor) and Chris.

Re: the startup - obviously it goes without saying that everything happens for a reason. At least now you (and me as well) have an eyes wide open perspective when it comes to getting involved with a startup.

Re: Taking A Moment For Myself

You are welcome. Thanks for the positive feedback Imagium. I'd be happy to grab coffee or tea some time soon. How does next week look?

Re: Taking A Moment For Myself

Nice post Matt.

I'm not a father, but I can relate with branding, partners, and leadership. Thanks for the community links for community man and brogan. I'll check them out.

I'm up for a discussion over a cup of coffee (or tea) soon.

Re: Taking A Moment For Myself

Good thoughts, and as a new dad (well, relatively new anyway) who is starting a business, I hear ya brother.
